Energy efficient heat pump HVAC technology increases the value of your home

A recent article on TechXplor, reinforced something we talk about here at Solar Smart Living regarding the Sustainable Energy Lifestyle.   We often talk about how adding an air source heat pump HVAC system to your home can not only lower your heating and cooling costs but it will also improve the energy efficiency of your home.   In addition, if you are installing it in a home with solar panels, you are using your solar energy more efficiently and getting more out of your investment. Based on what was posted by Nature Energy, you can even expect to see an increase in the value of your home.

“Launched this week in Nature Energy, a new study led by the Center for Global Sustainability (CGS) researchers examines the cost of heat pump installation in American households and the effect on house prices and home values. They find that heat pumps not only offer an energy-efficient source of electrified heating and cooling but also increase the value of the average home by adding on average a US$ 10,400–17,000 price premium for households in nearly half of the U.S. states.”

Adding air-source heat pumps to your solar installation

Combining a Mitsubishi mini-split heat pump with your solar PV system can enhance your savings and give you more value from the solar energy you are producing.   If you can use that solar energy more efficiently to cool and heat your home with technology that uses less energy, that’s another win for solar right?  You use less, thus are saving more.
